How does it work?

Any citizen who is at least eighteen years old is eligible to register for a Pago account. Using remote identification, the account is opened online. Following account creation, the owner has the option to request a Mastercard Pago debit card, which is immediately connected to the primary account. This card costs 1,000 ALL and can only be purchased once. There are no monthly or yearly maintenance costs associated with the Pago debit card, nor are there any fees for purchases made online, in Albania, or overseas.

After applying for the primary card, the user is enabled to order the Pago+ card, which is linked to a dedicated account. Each user has the right to order up to two Pago+ cards. Pago+ cards cost 500 lek and, like primary cards, have no commission on purchases and no monthly or annual maintenance fees.

The Pago+ card is issued in the name of the primary account holder and he bears full responsibility for transactions carried out with it, even when it is used by a child or other family members. The account holder is responsible for setting spending limits and monitoring the use of the Pago+ card.
