Card security

Keep in mind two quick ways to communicate with Rubicon:

Rubicon is committed to increasing the security of your card usage. However, complete protection is impossible without your knowledge and adherence to certain rules.

1. General rules

  1. Do not leave your card in unsafe places and do not give it to anyone.
  2. Never keep your card and PIN in the same place.
  3. Create a secure PIN and change it as often as possible. Do not use codes that can be easily guessed by fraudsters (e.g., 1111, 1234, etc.).
  4. Do not reveal your PIN code to anyone, not even Rubicon employees.
  5. Keep the phone number +355 4 562 0560 and Rubicon’s address [email protected] in order to immediately report lost cards or fraudulent actions.
  6. Shred or cut old cards at the number/chip location before discarding them.
  7. Regularly check the financial activity of your Pago account.
  8. Notify Rubicon when you change your address or personal details.
  9. Report any suspicious transactions immediately by calling Rubicon.
  10. Pay attention to the card during a POS transaction (in stores, restaurants, etc.) and take it away immediately after the transaction is completed.
  11. Do not leave your cards in unsafe places (car, work, etc.).
  12. Do not leave your cards with anyone. If you suspect that your PIN is known to unauthorized persons, change it immediately or notify Rubicon.

2. Tips for using ATMs.

Using your card at an ATM is a convenient and easy way to get money. Make sure you do it the right way.

  1. Before using the ATM, check for any foreign devices placed on the ATM keypad or card reader. If in doubt, do not use that ATM and inform Rubicon immediately.
  2. Keep your PIN away from the observation of others while performing ATM transactions.
  3. If you suspect that your PIN may have been compromised, notify Rubicon immediately and change your PIN as soon as possible.
  4. Be cautious if anyone offers to help or guide you and do not allow interference while completing your transaction.
  5. If your card is held by the ATM where you are performing the transaction, notify Rubicon immediately.

3. Tips for purchasing at POS

  1. Keep your PIN out of sight when making a transaction at the POS.
  2. Never leave your card out of your sight during a POS purchase. Make sure the card is swiped only once.

4. Tips for online shopping

  1. Make sure you are using a secure website before making payments over the Internet.
  2. Check for a lock icon in your web browser’s “status bar” or for “https://…” in the address of the web page where you are making the purchase.
  3. Never accept recommendations or advice from third parties when using cards.
  4. Check for signs that the website protects your data.
  5. Use a filter that warns you of suspicious websites.
  6. Make sure to make purchases at merchants equipped with the 3D Secure service.
  7. If you purchase with a payment link, never click on the link unless you are 100% sure who it comes from.
  8. Get all the necessary information about the price, commissions, etc. before finalizing the purchase or reservation online. Carefully read the merchant’s terms and policies, the terms of delivery and return of purchased goods, cancellation of the action, product warranty.
  9. Make sure the amount on the invoice you are receiving contains accurate data.
  10. Always log out of the merchant’s website after completing the purchase transaction.
  11. Do not respond to emails/phone calls from marketers requesting your personal information.
  12. Avoid using your data on a public computer.
